You had the opportunity to record your own commercial and watch the ones done by your classmates.  Now you will have the opportunity to watch some funny commercials done in different parts of the world.  Watch each video and then answer the questions that follow.

OLD SAN JUAN

On Tuesday, June 18 was our field trip to Old San Juan.  Those who didn’t go missed out on the fun.  Those who did go, thank you for being on time and following the rules.  

Now for your blog assignment:  answer the following questions in complete sentences.  If you did NOT attend the field trip, your assignment is explained further down.

QUESTIONS for those who went on the field trip:

1.  Did you enjoy the field trip to Old San Juan?  Why or why not?

2.  What did you like most about the field trip?

3.  What did you NOT like about the field trip?

4.  What were some of the places you visited or saw?

5.  Did you like the tour at the Museum of Doña Felisa?  Why or why not?

Choose 3 tourist attractions YOU have been to.  Prepare a collage for EACH tourist attraction.  Then give an oral report to the class.  Minimum 8 sentences per collage.

FIELD TRIP DETAILS!!!

Field trip to:  OLD SAN JUAN

Next week will be our field trip to Old San Juan.  Please read the info below carefully!!

DATE:  Tuesday, June 18, 2013

TIME:  6:45 am

MEETING PLACE:  In front of Beltran building

RETURNING HOUR:  Around 5:00 pm (subject to change)

PLACES INCLUDED:  Paseo de la Princesa, Felisa Rincon de Gautier Museum, La Fortaleza, the Cathedral, Parque de las Palomas, etc.  There will be two tours in English.


OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS:

• Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, preferably sneakers.  Shorts are allowed but no hot pants. 
• Water and sunblock are strongly recommended.   
• Transportation will be provided free of charge.
• Bring money for lunch and snacks.  You can bring a cooler with non-alcoholic beverages and something to eat on the way.  A stop will be made to eat breakfast and go to the restrooms.
• Don't forget your camera.
• The next blog will be about the field trip. Students not attending must provide a reasonable excuse.   They will be given another longer assignment.
• Any student NOT attending must let me know beforehand.  If something comes up at the last minute, CALL me.
• You MUST sign a release (Relevo de Responsabilidad) before going on the field trip.  Please visit Mrs. Marlyn Mercado's office (Retention) to sign the paper.

In the last two classes you have had the opportunity to see demonstrations given by your classmates as well as present your own.  Now I would like to get some feedback from you.  Please answer the  questions below in complete sentences.

DID YOU KNOW...?

The  image many people have of Puerto Rico is not a very positive one.  We are seen as lazy people being maintained by the the United States.  However, there is the flip side of the coin.  Here is a video to show you reality....no politics, just numbers.  What do you think?  (The video is in Spanish.)

WELCOME TO BLOGGING

Welcome to English 1102 and to blogging. During this quarter you will have the opportunity to post entries, comment on each others entries, and share some of your work from class. Important information of the course will also be provided. You can also post questions you have about the class. This will be a fun and different way to improve your skills in English. The work done on the blog will count toward your final grade. More details will be provided in class. Hope you enjoy the experience!
